Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri David Wong says that the police will be using artificial inteligenceto help them. But, it will mostly be used as guidelines to judicial officers to determine certain sentences. He says the system will be ready in a week or so.
He said that this would help improve efficiency and ensure consistency . He also said that after each time the court passes a sentence, there will always be complaints that it was not consitent. He hopes that with this, the judging will be more consistent and efficent.
The project will be used for only two offences, the posession of drugs and rape. The AI system will also analyse the age of the accused and the type and weight of drug. The age of victim and whether hurt was caused in rape offences.
